St. Benedict Ocean Shipping Lines, Inc. (SBOSLI)’s newest vessel, MV Francisca No. 5, has set sail from the Port of Balingoan to the Port of Benoni on its maiden voyage, Thursday 21 March 2024 at 05:04 a.m. carrying 72 passengers and 28 rolling cargoes. With a maximum capacity of 540 passengers and 30 rolling cargoes, this 3rd vessel of SBOSLI has the biggest passenger capacity of all vessels plying Balingoan-Camiguin route as of date.
MARINA Region 10 has granted a Special Permit to MV Francisca No. 5 to ply the route Balingoan-Benoni taking the usual sailing schedule of its sister cargo vessel, MV Francisco No. 2, while the latter will ply the Balingoan-Guinsiliban route. The said permit is valid from 20 March to 07 April 2024 in time for the Semana Santa when influx of people is expected to visit and stay in Camiguin for the annual PANAAD celebration.
