Member agencies of the Port Security Advisory Committee (PSAC) together with active partner agencies, convened for the 3rd Quarter Meeting on 30 September 2019 at the PPA PMO MOC Gad Hall.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the operationalization, naming, and designation of the seven (7) sub-gates of the new Gate Complex (Gate 3) at the Port of Cagayan de Oro. The said facility was fully operational on 22 September 2019. The PMO’s Port Police Division presented the Port Advisory/Bulletin/Announcement (PABA) for the operationalization of the said multi-gate complex. Gate 3A shall be used for the entry and exit for oversized cargoes and exit for all cargoes including FCLs, empties, RORO and general cargoes; Gates 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E and 3F shall be for the entry of containerized cargoes, RORO (Types 3 & 4) and other cargoes subject to mandatory weighing; and Gate 3G for general cargoes and all other cargoes not subject to mandatory weighing.
Furthermore, the body deliberated on the closure of Gate 2 (formerly Cargo Entry/Exit Gate) which shall be utilized as parking area for PPA customers and visitors with official transactions; and the prospective utilization of Gate 6 located near the coastal area as entry and exit point of cargoes coming from/going to the eastern part of Misamis Oriental to further ease road traffic congestion.
PSAC members then discussed the safety and security measures of the Port relative to the current African Swine Fever outbreak in the country. The body resolved to the crafting and issuance of another Port Advisory/Bulletin/Announcement (PABA) for the information and guidance of all.
