Furthermore, for speedy transmission of information during emergency and/or maritime accidents/incidents such as the listing incident also encountered by MV FILIPINAS CAGAYAN DE ORO on 12 November 2023 due to turbulence brought by Northeast monsoon, the meeting attendees committed to further strengthen the communication line towards prompt response and coordination among involved/concerned maritime agencies/units at any given time. For the said purpose, a message-exchange group via online messaging application was initially created. Additionally, Port Manager Butaslac, Jr. enjoined the City LGU thru Councilor Goking who chairs the Trade and Commerce Committee, to also participate in the Port and Maritime Management Advisory Council (PMMAC) meetings to help address relevant issues and concerns. The PMMAC meeting conducted by PMO MO/C every quarter of the year, serves as a venue for information dissemination, and for discussion of any issues and concerns among the port and maritime agency-members and partner agencies/units/organizations on matters of mutual concern.
