The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro welcomed in the Port of Cagayan de Oro the two offshore patrol and oceanographic research ships of the Philippine Navy tasked to conduct a Patrol mission in Mindanao on 29 October 2021.
With advance communication and coordination from the Naval Installation and Facilities Eastern Mindanao, the PMO MO/C has readily accommodated BRP GREGORIO VELASQUEZ (AGR702) and BRP ANDRES BONIFACION (PS17) vessels at the Baseport. The PMO has allocated berths for these vessels and also afforded them with rewatering services. The said ships docked at the port also for the purpose of reprovision before proceeding to their place of destination. The AGR702 vessel’s captain, CDR ROMEO D. MOSUELA, PN along with LT VIC M MONTALLANA,PN made a short courtesy call with Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac Jr. on even date.
Earlier this year, the PMO also facilitated a Navy vessel, Ship BRP TARLAC (LD601) in CDO Port that unloaded medical supplies and goods for distribution to target provinces in Visayas and Mindanao. The PMO likewise extended assistance such as berth allocation and tugboat services. The PH Navy team headed by CAPT NORMAN A MUTIA, PN (GSC), Commanding Officer, LD601 similarly made a courtesy call with the Port Manager on 28 January 2021.
