The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC), particularly the Port Police Department (PPD), has taken proactive steps to aid in the search for justice. On November 5, 2023, a radio broadcaster Juan Tumpang “Johnny Walker” Jumalon fell victim to an appalling crime, losing his life to an unknown assailant in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. Determined to bring those responsible to justice and to ensure the safety of the public, the PMO MOC Port Police Department has undertaken a crucial initiative in dissemination of flyers in the Passenger Terminal Building and at the Amenity Building on March 14, 2024.
The Port Police has been diligently distributing and posting flyers across strategic locations within the Passenger Terminal Complex. These flyers contain vital information regarding the suspects involved in the heinous crime against Juan Tumpang “Johnny Walker” Jumalon. This initiative shows it’s support to the Presidential Task Force on Media Security reiterating our commitment to uphold press freedom.
By disseminating information about the suspects, the PMO MOC Port Police Department endeavors a sense of solidarity and cooperation within the community, emphasizing the collective responsibility in upholding peace and security. Through collaborative action and community engagement, the Port Police Department exemplifies its dedication to serving and protecting the public, ensuring that the voices of the victims are heard, and the perpetrators are brought to account for their actions.
