On March 23, 2024, the PMO MOC and its personnel, in solidarity with the rest of the world joins the Earth Hour 2024, wherein non-essential lights and electrical devices in the office, Port premises, and at their respective homes were switched off for one hour from 8:30PM to 9:30PM, but excluding areas with on-going operations at the port.

In 2007, the World Wide Fund (WWF) has created an international environmental movement known as Earth Hour. Millions of people worldwide come together in March each year to switch off for an hour as a symbolic event that highlights the need to fight climate change, promote sustainable living, and demonstrate commitment toward nature and for the planet’s future.

With this activity, we are reminded that even small actions can have a big impact by giving an hour to the environment. And the PMO MOC continues its adherence to join forces with the nation in saving our Mother Earth in all ways, always.
