Cagayan de Oro | The PMO MOC conducts the 4th Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, November 9, 2023 at 9 o’clock in the morning, which is in accordance with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memo No. 06 s.2023.

As the fire alarms activated, the PMO MOC personnel, porters, ship crew, vendors, travelers and clients performed the DUCK, COVER and HOLD maneuver. Building Evacuation Drill was then followed when the fire alarms were deactivated. Personnel from the Engineering Services Division immediately checked the status of the buildings and the vicinity of the port for possible damages and for everyone’s safety. In addition, Evacuation Vehicle are on standby just incase of Tsunami alert. Once everything was checked and marked safe, everyone went back to their respective stations.

Encouraging disaster preparedness and awareness among all citizens is the goal of the NSED’s quarterly survey. During the simulation, the PMO MO/C assesses the usefulness and efficacy of the Offices’ reaction, recovery, and contingency plans in addition to their coordination and communication systems during response activities.
