Cagayan de Oro City | The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) conducted an Annual Ambient Air and Noise Quality Monitoring at the Baseport of Cagayan de Oro last December 29, 2023. The monitoring was facilitated by the PMO MOC personnel Ms. Core Suan (Environmental Specialist) and Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) recognized Aeronics Laboratory Technician. Three areas was monitored at the Port with parameters on total suspended particles, sulphur oxide, and nitrous oxide.
The Philippine Clean Air Act, also known as Republic Act No. 8749, is a comprehensive air quality management policy and program that aims to achieve and maintain healthy air for all Filipinos. The quality monitoring is conducted in compliance with this law. Additionally, it is required by the conditions of the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC).
As an awardee by the APSN for Green Port Award System, the PMO MOC prioritizes solving solid waste, water, and air quality issues in addition to improving environmental quality. PMO MOC stands with the nation in protecting and achieving a cleaner and greener environment for all and for the future generations.
