PMO MOC Celebrates PPA's 50th Milestone with Christmas Donation Drive - PPA PMO Misamis Oriental / Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, BASEPORT – The Port Management Office (PMO) of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro held a meaningful celebration of the Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) 50th milestone through a heartwarming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The event, themed “𝑮𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒐 𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒈𝒊 𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒕”, was held at the Port Terminal Building in December 13, 2024 and featured a special donation drive aimed at sharing the spirit of Christmas through giving of gift packs to 97 porters.

The short program kicked off with an Opening Prayer, followed by the Philippine National Anthem. Ma. Chona R. Fabia, delivered the Welcome Address, extending warm greetings to all attendees and underscoring the significance of the event in line with PPA’s golden anniversary celebration.

The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the short but impactful message of APM Fernando “Toto” B. Mapalo, Jr., who commended the porters for their tireless service and emphasized PPA’s ongoing commitment to supporting the welfare of its employees.

The program also featured an AVP of the PPA MOC Chorale, bringing joy to the attendees through their musical performance. In between activities, engaging games were held. A special intermission number by the Porter’s Association further energized the crowd, highlighting the talent within the port community.

As a part of the gift-giving segment, the porters received not only gift packs but also a warm serving of Macaroni Soup and snacks, adding a personal touch to the event. The President of the Porters’ Association delivered a heartfelt response message, expressing gratitude for the generosity shown by PPA and the Port Management Office. Ruby Maria Gumapon, in her Closing Remarks, wrapped up the event by thanking everyone for their participation and support, reinforcing the importance of unity and compassion within the port community.
