Cagayan de Oro City – The PMO MO/C Personnel conducted a Clean-up Drive today, 26 January 2024 at the Port Area of Cagayan de Oro; specifically at Gate 4 Entrance Gates, Port Operational Area, and Passenger Terminal Building outside gate. This is in celebration of the “Zero Waste Month 2024” and as a continuous support with LGU’s City Wide Clean-up Drive, “Klarex nga Kalimpyo sa Kadalanan ug Tugkaran.” A total of 200 kilos of debris was collected by the participants. The activity was participated by 39 PMO MO/C Personnel (personnel from Port Services Division, Port Police Division, and Advance Forces Security and Investigation Services, Inc.), together with 50 Oroport Cargo Handling Inc. personnel, 10 Passenger Terminal Building personnel, and 10 Macajalar Whatf Porters Association members.

The Zero Waste Month, with this year’s theme: “Sustainable Waste Management in Livable Communities: Zero Waste to Philippine Waters by 2040” emphasized the importance of successfully and sensibly managing our garbage in order to maintain our communities clean and encourage good living circumstances, so making them habitable. And the City-Wide Clean-up Drive, held on the last Friday of each month, is part of the LGU’s systematic, comprehensive, and environmentally friendly solid waste management plan aimed at protecting the environment and public health.

The PMO MO/C remains unwavering in its dedication to achieving the goal of a cleaner and greener environment for the economic and security of long-term generations.
