As part of the Earth Hour Celebration for 2023, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro together with other invited agencies namely, 1001st Auxiliary Squadron (PCGA), Philippine Army (PA) – Task Force Oro, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Junior Chamber International (JCI) participated in the tree planting activity at Mapawa Nature Park, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City on 25 March 2023. This is a kick-off event for the 24th Founding Anniversary of the Cost Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM), with the theme, “24 Years of Dedicated Service: Navigating the Way and Anchoring Unity Towards Excellence”.

At the start of the activity, a representative from CGDNM demonstrated the proper way of planting the seedling to ensure its growth especially during the hot summer season. A total of one hundred (100) Narra seedlings were planted within the area.

The PMO continues to support the undertakings of its partner agencies especially for environmental protection and conservation.
