The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) participated in a Coastal Clean Up Drive, headed by its Port Environmental Specialist Core D. Suan, in support of the Annual Earth Day Celebration on 22 April 2023, at the Coastal Road, Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

A total of twenty-one (21) employees (regular and outsourced) from the PMO participated in the said coastal cleanup drive, alongside KUSGAN Volunteers, a non- profit organization, and other volunteers from the academe, community, and private organizations, to collect trash and debris from the shorelines and dispose them properly. PMO MOC was able to collect approximately 20 sacks of plastic, broken glass, masks, plastic toys, and cloth which accumulated to almost 60 kilograms of waste.

Earth Day is an annual event with the goal of raising awareness about the need of protecting the planet’s natural resources for coming generations. The participation of PMO MOC in this coastal cleanup drive is a testament to its commitment for sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
