All ports and terminal management offices under the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro have concluded the Operation Plan: Biyaheng Ayos for Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2023 which ran from 02 April – 10 April 2023.

Prior to its implementation, the Ports of Cagayan de Oro, Balingoan, Benoni, Balbagon, and Guinsiliban have prepared for the expected increase in passenger traffic during the long weekend. Coordination meetings with other security agencies and Local Government Units were conducted as all transport agencies are directed to be on heightened alert status to ensure the security, safety, and convenience of all passengers travelling during this period. The Philippine Ports Authority prepared an Operational Plan for efficient, effective, and immediate response in view of traffic demands and incidents that may occur.

Volunteers from both outsourced and regular personnel of the PMO, as well as representatives from the Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM), 1001st Auxiliary Squadron (PCGA), PNP Maritime Unit (RMU – 10), and other law enforcement agencies manned the Public Assistance and Malasakit Help Desks and were on standby at the port premises for the whole duration of the OPLAN.
