The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MO/C), together with all the PMOs and Terminal Management Offices (TMOs) nationwide, celebrated the 47th anniversary of the Philippine Ports Authority on 12 July 2021.
PMO personnel including those in TMO Opol, Balingoan, and Camiguin have joined the event which was celebrated thru a short virtual program organized by PPA Head Office. The said program was graced by the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Arthur P. Tugade.
With its theme, “Sama-Sama at Sabay-Sabay sa Paggaling at Pagbangon,” the Authority recapitulated its achievements and milestones unlocked amidst the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID19) pandemic such as the completed port projects in several areas nationwide; and the activities under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for severely-affected port stakeholders and for those communities near the port displaced by a fire incident, among other initiatives. PPA has also remitted additional P3.541 billion in dividends to the national coffer to assist the government in its COVID-19 response. Since 2016, the Authority was able to remit a total of P17.171 billion in dividend to aid the government in the implementation of its various social and health programs.
PPA General Manager Jay Daniel R. Santiago thanked the DOTr Secretary for his unswerving support to the projects and initiatives of PPA.
The PMO personnel on duty then partook a simple lunch after the virtual program. A thanksgiving mass was also offered by the PMO by 2:00 in the afternoon.
