The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro and all ports under its jurisdiction celebrated its 48th year in public service from April 11-15, 2023.

The week-long celebration kicked off on 11 April 2023 with a Zumba Activity and Volleyball Exhibition Game with its long-time partner agency, the Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM). This also served as the opening activity for the mini sports fest that ran from April 11-13, 2023. Friendship volleyball and basketball games were also conducted together with CGDNM and the 1001st Auxiliary Squadron.

In addition to its environmental activities, the PMO also conducted a clean-up drive at the Port of Cagayan de Oro wherein personnel from the PMO together with the Macajalar Wharf Porters’ Association (MWPA), OROPORT Cargohandling Services (CHO), and CGDNM helped clean the port premises.

A culminating activity was held on 14 April 2023, starting with a Eucharistic Celebration to thank the Almighty Father for His constant guidance and provision which led to the achievements and milestones of the PMO. Guests from the CGDNM and 1001st Auxiliary Squadron took part in the activity. After the Mass, a short program was conducted wherein the special recognition was given to the personnel who have served for more than 10 years and the winners of the friendship games were awarded. All the Divisions also participated in a “Lip-Sync Battle” and the fellowship games that were prepared for the program.

The PMO concluded its celebration on Saturday, 15 April 2023, by giving out free Calamansi Juice to all its clients and passengers at the ABCU and Passenger Terminal Building as an expression of sincere gratitude for their great contribution to the PMO’s success.

In its 48th year of public service, PMO MO/C shall continue to serve the Filipinos amidst the challenges of the new normal.
