The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) together with its Terminal Management Offices marked its 49th Anniversary with a fun and purpose-driven celebration, emphasizing the theme “Strengthening Port Commitments for a Sustainable Future.” The three-day festivity, which commenced on April 11, 2024, and concluded on April 15, 2024, encapsulated a blend of camaraderie, reflection, and forward-looking initiatives.

The event’s diverse array of activities mirrored the office’s multifaceted approach towards fostering a more environmentally conscious and socially responsible port operation. The festivity kicked off with a profound focus on mental health, exemplified by a Talk/Seminar on “Work-Life Balance and Stress Management.”. This GAD activity highlighted the importance of mental health in the workplace, fostering a supportive environment for all staff members.

Following this enlightening discourse, the celebration took on a more spiritual dimension with a Eucharistic Celebration, underscoring the significance of gratitude and unity in achieving collective goals. This solemn moment was followed by a joyous Salo-Salo, where colleagues came together to share not only food but also laughter and camaraderie.

Transitioning into the second phase of the program, PPA General Manager Jay Santiago gave his heartwarming greetings which was delivered by PPO Zaldy Magtagad

.

Port Manager Isidro Butaslac Jr also gave his opening remarks emphasizing the indispensable nature of teamwork in realizing shared objectives. This sentiment of collaboration was beautifully encapsulated in the First ever PMO MOC Eco Warrior Catwalk – Summer Collection inspired by Milan Fashion Week.

11 Eco warriors from various divisions showcased their creativity by crafting outfits from recyclable materials. The PPA Lugaw Mobile Station was also officially launched. Employees gathered eagerly to savor the PPA Lugaw during the event, further strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of belongingness. This is also part of the green initiative as a green port awardee.

As the celebration ended, anticipation mounted as the winners of the Eco Warrior Catwalk were announced. Among the contenders, Eco warrior Ella, representing the Office of the Port Manager, emerged victorious, embodying the spirit of creativity and sustainability wearing 7 different recyclables.
