The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) successfully conducted its Division Level Conference on January 22, 2023. This is one of the lined-up activities for the Strategic Direction Planning for the year 2024. The Division-Level Conference is planned from January 22, 2024, to February 9, 2024. This conference will facilitate the evaluation, preparation and submission of enrolled Major Reports, compliance with the Commitments, Program, Activities, and Projects (PAPS) of the Office Performance Commitment and Review, and all other personnel whose functions involve direct monitoring and supervision of the procurement activities, compliance to GAD, ARTA, and Integrated Management System activities. The event aimed to enhance sound management and operational efficiency, aligning with the PMO’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.

The conference began with the Terminal Management Offices (TMOs) taking the lead as the first division to present. Acting Division Manager C, Edsel Calo, along with TMO representatives, presented a comprehensive overview covering their accomplishments in 2023, plans and programs for 2024, as well as providing insights into the port statistics, financial performance, and addressing issues and concerns specific to both Balingoan and Camiguin ports.

Following his presentation, Terminal Manager Roel Madera from Opol took the floor to delve deeper into the accomplishments and challenges faced by his specific area. He also presented their Program Activities and Projects for 2024. This collaborative approach allowed for a more granular examination of the issues, ensuring that each Terminal Management Office had the opportunity to address their concerns.

During the presentations, a constructive and in-depth discussion ensued, facilitated by Port Manager Isidro Butaslac Jr. The exchange of ideas and feedback during this session was instrumental in identifying areas for improvement. His coaching and mentoring paved the way to understanding. The collaborative atmosphere allowed representatives from each division to contribute valuable insights, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the overall success of the PMO MOC.
