The Port Management Office (PMO) of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro participated in the Environmental Compliance Monitoring conducted by the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro at PPA Oroport, Cagayan de Oro City, on June 23, 2026, to assess the port’s compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

The monitoring focused on wastewater management, solid waste management, and pollution control measures in support of the city’s environmental protection initiatives under the Water Quality Management Area (WQMA). As part of the activity, the CLENRO monitoring team reviewed the port’s environmental compliance documents and inspected key facilities, including wastewater and sewerage treatment systems, septic tanks, oil-water separators, and the materials recovery facility, to verify adherence to applicable environmental standards.

The activity was conducted in coordination with Oroport Cargo Handling Services, Inc. (OCHSI), which also underwent environmental compliance audit and monitoring. The joint participation of PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro and OCHSI underscored their continued commitment to regulatory compliance and the implementation of sustainable environmental management practices within the port.

Through its sustained collaboration with government agencies and port stakeholders, PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro remains committed to environmental stewardship, responsible port operations, and the promotion of a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable port environment.
