In support of the Philippine government’s campaign against illegal drugs, the Department of Transportation thru the Philippine Ports Authority, deployed forty (40) K9 Narcotic Detection Dogs together with their handlers to thirty-one (31) PMOs nationwide.

The deployment of these K9 units is aimed to help the port police personnel and hired security guards to bolster the interdiction of shipments of illegal drugs at ports in proper coordination with other concerned law enforcement agencies. This effort is further aimed to help in minimizing, if not totally eliminating the proliferation of illegal drugs using the seaports across the country.
