Members of the Port and Maritime Management Council (PMMAC) and Port Security Advisory Committee (PSAC) together with invited agencies jointly convened virtually on 17 September 2021 for port services and security updates.
Lead agencies presented the following updates: status of Passenger eManifest System implementation by the Maritime Industry Authority; line-up of activities for the 2021 National Maritime Week Celebration spearheaded by the Philippine Coast Guard; and the PPA PMO MO/C presented the ongoing port infrastructure development projects towards more responsive facilities for the seagoing public. Invited agency, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-10, imparted reports relative to salient points of Executive Order 70 for government employees.
During the online break-out session, the PMO reported the status of the compliance of the port service providers to the mandatory mangrove/tree planting and attendance to Basic Port Operations Seminar with now 1,883 total number of BPOS “graduates”. The Port Security Advisory Council on the other hand, deliberated the security status of the province and region. The Port Police Division relayed to the body the latest Port Advisory, Bulletin, Announcements (PABA) issued.
The attendees signified support and participation to the activities in celebration of the National Maritime Week in the succeeding days which are mostly through the virtual platform in view of the restrictions caused by the ongoing COVID-19 health emergency.
