April 13, 2018 marked a momentous celebration in PPA Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro as excitement and remembrance of quondam memoirs were synthesized in the emotions of PPA personnel, all port users and stakeholders.
The illustrious anniversary spirit astounded vividly during the whole day celebration in remembrance of when the Port of Cagayan de Oro first unfolded its public service to the public 43 years ago with the theme Celebrating 43rd Anniversary with a Message of Peace for Prosperity. The theme highlights the essence of unity as the building block of prosperity amidst diversity. It transcends the notion that an organization weakened by different cultural strands is made stronger by acceptance of the variety of culture, social and ethnic elements. Thus, the attainments of giving port services of global standards are reached when all stakeholders are from a unified perspective.
The celebration opened through a Mass offering as a sign of gratitude to the Almighty Father for all the blessings bestowed in PPA MOC through the years. The momentous occasion also included a program where Regional Director, DENR- Environmental Management Bureau, DR. SABDULLAH C. ABUBACAR, rendered his words of gratification congratulating PPA MOC as an organization serving as a steward for environmental protection and preservation. — By JRR Lapinig
