The Port Management Office (PMO) of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro participated in the Digital and Social Media Summit – Mindanao Leg 2 held on August 13, 2026, at the HAID Division Clubhouse, Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

With the theme, “Accurate, Timely, and Accountable Leading Information for Trustworthy, Inclusive Narratives and Yielding Public Confidence,” the summit brought together representatives from various agencies and organizations to strengthen their capabilities in digital communication, social media management, and responsible information dissemination.

The program featured lectures and discussions on the evolving digital and social media landscape, cognitive warfare and the information environment, countering misinformation, disinformation and malinformation, protecting institutional brands online, effective digital communication strategies, and advancing nationalism and patriotism in the age of social media.

The discussions also highlighted the role of digital platforms in delivering accurate, credible, and timely information and in building public trust through responsible and inclusive communication.

For PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, the activity provided relevant insights that can be applied to its digital communication and public information initiatives, particularly in communicating port-related programs, activities, accomplishments, and public service efforts through social media platforms.

As the information landscape continues to evolve, the PMO aims to translate these learnings into clearer, more responsive, and more credible digital communication that keeps the public informed about port services and developments.
