With more passengers expected to travel during the Undas holiday 2026, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) β Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO-MOC) met with partner agencies and port stakeholders on October 27, 2026, for the joint meeting of the Port Management Advisory Council (PMAC) and Port Security Advisory Council (PSAC). The meeting focused on preparations for OPLAN Biyaheng Ayos: UNDAS 2026, port security, traffic concerns, and other issues that could affect passengers and daily port operations.
One of the concerns raised was the ongoing Department of Public Works and Hiway (DPWH) drainage construction near the port, which could affect the movement of vehicles in the area. The group also discussed security arrangements, passenger assistance, and traffic management, especially during days when more travelers are expected to pass through the port.
With several concerns requiring coordination, the meeting gave the agencies and stakeholders a chance to discuss their respective preparations and work out ways to lessen possible delays and inconvenience. Keeping the flow of passengers and vehicles manageable will be important as travel activity picks up during the holiday.
For PMO-MOC, preparations for Undas go beyond security measures. They also involve working with the agencies and groups operating in and around the port to address concerns before these affect passengers. Through the joint meeting, the office continues to coordinate with its partners to help keep port operations safe and orderly throughout the holiday period.
