The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) assisted seven Architecture students from PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College during their visit to the Port of Cagayan de Oro on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as part of their academic requirements for their Design subject, โA Proposed Multimodal Passenger Port.โ
During the visit, the students observed the portโs existing facilities, layout, and passenger movement to help them understand the actual conditions of the site they intend to use for their design project. Seeing how the port operates gave them a closer look at the practical considerations involved in planning a passenger terminal.
The visit also allowed the students to look beyond their classroom discussions and see how the design of a port facility relates to its daily operations. Their observations will serve as a reference as they work on their proposed multimodal passenger port.
PPA PMO MOC welcomed the academic activity as an opportunity for students to learn more about port facilities and operations through actual site observation. The office continues to assist educational institutions in providing students with a better understanding of the maritime industry and the role of ports in passenger transportation.
