In line with its commitment to operational safety and personnel capability enhancement, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) successfully conducted a comprehensive Orientation and Training on the Proper Operations of Manlift and Boom Truck vehicles on May 22, 2025. The activity, held at the PPA PMO MOC Building 2 GAD Hall and Building 2 Grounds, was organized to equip port personnel with essential knowledge on the safe and efficient operation of these critical service equipment.
The training, facilitated by Mr. Edel Gomintong, an Auto Mechanic from BT Industries Inc., was designed as a whole-day event combining both theoretical discussions and practical exercises. Mr. Gomintong shared his expertise on the proper handling, operational functions, and safety procedures in operating Manlift and Boom Truck vehicles, with participants given opportunities to experience actual demonstrations on-site.
A total of twenty-nine personnel from PMO MOC took part in the training. The participants included regular personnel, drivers, and Engineering Services Division staff, particularly from the Powerhouse and Civil Works units. Also joining were several Contract of Service personnel assigned to driving, maintenance, and documentation tasks.
The training concluded with a practical demonstration and operational exercise, giving participants the opportunity to apply the techniques and procedures discussed throughout the day. This initiative reflects PMO MOC’s continuous effort to enhance the technical competence and safety awareness of its personnel, ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable operations within the port.
