The Philippine Ports Authority, Port Management Office- Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PPA PMO-MO/C) conducted a coordination meeting on May 26, 2025 at the PMO MO/C Gadhall, presided over by the Acting Port Manager, to discuss the ongoing development projects at Opol and Camiguin ports, with particular focus on updates and compliance with the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) requirements. In attendance were representatives from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Jejors Construction Corporation, and Life Awesome Ventures, Inc (LAVI).

The meeting discussed key projects under the jurisdiction of Opol and Camiguin ports, including the Construction of Breakwater and Dredging for Port Benoni, the Proposed Construction of a Cruise Ship Port in Balbagon, the Guinsiliban Port Expansion Project, and the Port Expansion and Restoration Project in Opol. LAVI, the project consultant, presented updates on the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) application, noting the current compliance status and requesting additional documentary requirements such as the Self-Monitoring Report (SMR), Compliance Monitoring Report (CMR), Permit to Operate Generator Set, Wastewater Discharge Permit, and the Hazardous Waste Generator’s ID. It was emphasized that once all requirements are submitted, the ECC application will be processed immediately. Meanwhile, Jejors Construction Corporation, the project contractor, is actively working to gather and complete the required submissions to facilitate timely compliance.

The Acting Port Manager acknowledged the importance of maintaining strict adherence to ECC conditions and emphasized the need for continuous communication among all parties. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from the PPA, consultant, and contractor to ensure environmentally compliant and timely execution of all port development activities within Opol and Camiguin.
