In an ongoing effort to advance port management standards and inter-agency collaboration, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) hosted a benchmarking activity for the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) today, May 20, 2025. The activity was guided by a structured program flow that aimed to showcase best practices and innovative systems implemented by PMO MO/C.

 

The Acting Port Manager warmly welcomed guests from AFAB, emphasizing the PMO MOC’s commitment to operational efficiency, environmental stewardship, and service excellence. The benchmarking formally commenced with the Invocation Prayer and the singing of the Pambansang Awit. This was followed by the presentation of the PMO MO/C Safety Protocol, underscoring the agency’s commitment to safety and compliance.

 

The second segment of the program featured a series of informative presentations that highlighted PMO MOC’s systems and commitment to sustainability. It began with the audio-visual presentation titled “Global Gateway to Mindanao”, which showcased the strategic role of Cagayan de Oro as a major logistics hub. This was followed by an overview of the Green Port Award System (GPAS) delivered by the Port Services Division Manager

 

The presentation on Green Port Practices by the Environmental Specialist emphasized the office’s ongoing initiatives to promote environmentally responsible port operations. Finally, the Port Police Division led a discussion on Pedestrian and RoRo Vehicle Flow Management, underlining the importance of safety protocols and logistical coordination in ensuring smooth and secure movement within the port.

 

The third part of the activity featured a guided facility tour, allowing the AFAB team to observe daily operations, technology integration, and infrastructure firsthand. This immersive experience supports the transfer of practical knowledge and affirms PMO MOC’s leadership in port terminal management.
