The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) proudly celebrated its 50th Founding Anniversary from May 7 to 9, 2025, marking five decades of dedicated public service, development, and partnership with the community and port stakeholders. The three-day celebration reflected not only the office’s operational achievements but also its strong advocacy for health, wellness, teamwork, and cultural pride.

The anniversary festivities commenced with a Bloodletting Activity in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter, and in collaboration with Sunrise Multi-Purpose Cooperative on May 07, 2025. Held at the port premises, the blood donation drive drew enthusiastic participation from PMO employees, partner agencies, and port stakeholders. The activity reflected PMO MOC’s unwavering commitment to public welfare and community service.

In the afternoon, the spirit of camaraderie came alive as employees from PMO MOC faced off with colleagues from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in a series of friendship games. The following day, the excitement continued with more friendship games, this time between PMO MOC and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – First District Engineering Office. These matches served as a fun and engaging avenue to strengthen inter-agency relations while promoting the importance of physical wellness and team spirit.

The highlight of the anniversary celebration was held on May 9, with a two-part program filled with reflection, recognition, and recreation. The morning program commenced at the GAD Hall, starting with an invocation, national anthem, and an opening message from the Acting Port Manager. One of the most anticipated moments of the program was the launch of the new PMO MO/C logo, a symbol of transformation and a renewed vision for PMO MOC.

Key messages were delivered by the Acting Port Manager (APM) and the General Manager, Jay Daniel Santiago, expressing appreciation for the dedicated men and women who have helped shape the port’s legacy. The program also featured an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) showcasing the Evolution of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, taking attendees on a journey through time, from humble beginnings to its current status as a vital maritime hub in Northern Mindanao.

The event also gave due recognition to exemplary personnel and partners through the Recognition and Awards segment, followed by a Reels Video Presentation that captured the highlights of the three-day celebration, evoking both pride and nostalgia.
At 3:00 PM, the program resumed with a Physical Fitness Activity, starting with an energetic Zumba session that got everyone moving and energized. This was followed by the Opening Ceremony of the Inter-Color Games, where teams were introduced, banners were raised, and the spirit of healthy competition was officially ignited.

A crowd favorite, the Palarong Pinoy, closed the celebration on a joyful note. As PMO MOC continues to navigate forward, it does so with deep appreciation for its history and strong optimism for the years to come. The golden anniversary stands as both a celebration of past accomplishments and a renewed commitment to serve the port community for many more decades ahead.
