On July 17, 2025, a total of 52 passengers were reported stranded at the Port of Balingoan as Typhoon Crising caused the suspension of sea travel. Among the stranded individuals were 6 senior citizens and 2 infants, all of whom were temporarily sheltered inside the Port Operations Building (POB).

In response to the situation, immediate relief efforts were initiated to ensure the comfort and welfare of the affected passengers. As part of the humanitarian assistance, hot servings of lugaw (rice porridge) were distributed to all stranded individuals. This effort aimed to provide a warm, nourishing meal to ease the discomfort caused by the unexpected delay and inclement weather.
