The Philippine Ports Authority – Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental (PPA-PMO MOC) took part in the Grand Launching of the Higalaay Festival 2026, held on August 6, 2026, at Rio de Oro Boulevard, Cagayan de Oro City.

Carrying the theme “Our Grit. Our Pride. Our Guide,” the grand launching marked the official start of the city’s month-long celebration of friendship, culture, unity, and Cagayan de Oro’s vibrant identity.

The celebration commenced with a Holy Mass, followed by the TNT Activation and the formal program featuring various presentations and activities. Highlights included a look back at Higalaay Festival 2025, the launching of the Higalaay Festival 2026 promotional video and activities, the Higalaay Message, and the ceremonial launching of the Higalaay Festival symbol, culminating in a Unity Dance and fireworks display.

The event also featured performances from the TNT segment and guest band, adding to the festive atmosphere and bringing together government officials, stakeholders, partners, and members of the community.

The participation of PPA-PMO MOC in the grand launching underscores the Authority’s support for local initiatives that promote camaraderie, cultural pride, community engagement, and the continued growth of Cagayan de Oro City as a vibrant and welcoming gateway in Northern Mindanao.

As the Higalaay Festival 2026 officially unfolds, PPA-PMO MOC joins the people of Cagayan de Oro in celebrating the city’s spirit of friendship, resilience, and shared pride.
