The Office of Civil Defense Region X (OCD-X) conducted a three-day Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training on April 15–17, 2026 at The Pearlmont Hotel, bringing together participants from the Port Management Office (PMO) Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, local government units, response agencies, and partner stakeholders across Northern Mindanao.

The training focused on strengthening participants’ competencies in the Incident Command System (ICS), particularly in command structure, coordination, communication, and resource management during emergencies. Simulation exercises and interactive discussions enabled participants to apply ICS principles in realistic scenarios, enhancing teamwork and decision-making under pressure.

The initiative highlights the continued commitment of the PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro to advancing port safety, security, and disaster preparedness, ensuring personnel are equipped to respond effectively and contribute to a unified emergency response system.
