On March 27, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the Philippine Ports Authority – Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro participated in the Batch 4 Incident Command System Executive Course conducted at the Office of Civil Defense in Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity was personally attended and actively participated in by the Port Manager and the Port Police Division Station Commander, demonstrating strong leadership commitment in strengthening disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities at the management level.

The Incident Command System Executive Course is designed for senior officials and decision-makers, focusing on the application of a standardized, all-hazards incident management system. It enhances the ability of leaders to exercise command responsibility, ensure coordinated inter-agency response, and make timely, strategic decisions during emergencies.

The training covered key components such as Incident Command System organization, operational coordination, management of planned events and major incidents, and the roles and responsibilities of executive leaders.

As one of the flagship programs of the Office of Civil Defense under the Department of National Defense and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the Incident Command System is institutionalized pursuant to Republic Act No. 10121, NDRRMC Memorandum Circular No. 4 s. 2012, and Executive Order No. 82 s. 2012.

Through the direct engagement of its top officials, the Port Management Office reinforces its commitment to decisive leadership, unified command, and effective coordination, ensuring the safety, security, and resilience of port operations and the riding public.
