In its continuing effort to strengthen workplace safety and promote awareness of engineering-related hazards, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MO/C) successfully conducted the Engineering Safety Series: Electrical, Hot Works, and Generator Awareness Seminaron October 03, 2025.
The activity was held through a hybrid platform—face-to-face for participants from the baseport at PMO Building 2, GAD Hall, and online for Terminal Management Offices (TMOs). Attendees included ESD personnel, safety personnel, the office nurse, as well as representatives and security guards from various TMOs.
The half-day seminar covered three essential safety topics: Electrical Safety, Hot Works Safety, and Generator Awareness. These sessions provided participants with vital knowledge on identifying hazards, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring preparedness during engineering-related operations.
Serving as the resource speaker was Mr. Gabriele Mondoñedo, Acting Supervising Engineer A of the Engineering Services Division (ESD), who shared his expertise on technical practices and precautionary measures to prevent accidents and promote safe operations.
By engaging both baseport and TMO personnel, this seminar underscored PMO MO/C’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety across all levels of port operations, ensuring that staff and security alike are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
