Cagayan de Oro City- The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO-MOC) demonstrated swift coordination and response earlier today, June 11, 2025, after a portion of a tree branch fell within the port premises. The incident is believed to have been caused by the heavy rains and strong winds that the city experienced the previous day.
Immediately upon notification, the Port Police Division took charge of securing the area. They promptly set up police line signage and barricades to prevent unauthorized access and to safeguard the public.
The Engineering Services Division (ESD) deployed its personnel to clear the debris from the affected area safely. The prompt and efficient action of the ESD personnel helped to ensure that potential hazards to port users especially motorists, cargo vehicles, and pedestrians were quickly mitigated.
The coordinated efforts between the ESD and the Port Police Division underscore PMO-MOC’s strong commitment to safety, operational readiness, and inter-division cooperation. The incident area will remain restricted until all necessary inspections and safety measures are completed.
PMO-MOC urges all port users to remain vigilant and adhere to posted safety advisories, especially during extreme weather conditions.
