In a celebration marked by solemnity and gratitude, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) commemorated its 50th Founding Anniversary with a meaningful observance aligned with the spirit of the Lenten Season.

The PMO hosted a series of spiritually enriching activities to honor this golden milestone while respecting the sacredness of Holy Week. This mindful celebration showcased not only the port’s half-century of dedicated service but also its strong commitment to nurturing the spiritual well-being of its community.

The day began with a recollection grounded in the theme “Anchored in the Cross”, highlighting the significance of Holy Week as a spiritual harbor—a place to pause, reflect, and realign with one’s purpose. The participants were guided through the three key movements of Holy Week which are Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday. This reflective session not only prepared the participants spiritually but also served as a metaphorical navigation point for both personal faith and organizational direction.

A Holy Mass was then celebrated—offering thanks for five decades of public service, resilience, and collective growth. The liturgy underscored themes of gratitude, unity, and renewed purpose, setting a reverent tone for the rest of the day. After the mass, an oathtaking ceremony was held for the Pantalan and Sunrise officers of PMO MOC. The ceremony marked a formal reaffirmation of the PMO’s mission as it looks toward the future, guided by faith and the values of service.

In the spirit of generosity and appreciation, the PMO also extended thoughtful gestures to its clients and passengers at the Assessment, Billing, and Collection Unit (ABCU) and the Passenger Terminal Building. Both passengers and clients received simple tokens of appreciation, including coffee, bottled water, candies, snacks, and reflection bookmarks. These small yet heartfelt gifts reflected the PMO’s gratitude for the continuous support of the community it serves.

Inviting everyone to stay tuned for more exciting activities still lined up as part of our full celebration. The main events are set to unfold after the Holy Week, promising fun, connection, and meaningful engagement for everyone involved.
