Cagayan de Oro City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully held an Open House event for the BRP Tubbataha (MRRV 4401) at the Port of Cagayan de Oro on April 10, 2025, providing maritime stakeholders including the personnel of PMO MOC and guests with a unique opportunity to explore one of the country’s premier maritime assets.

Attendees were given the chance to board and tour the BRP Tubbataha, one of ten Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRVs) of the PCG, and learn more about its crucial functions in maritime safety, law enforcement, search and rescue operations, and environmental protection.

The vessel’s advanced features—including the Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Identification System (AIS), and dual water cannons for firefighting—were demonstrated to showcase its multifaceted capabilities. With a maximum speed of 25 knots and an endurance of up to 1,500 nautical miles at economical speed, the BRP Tubbataha stood as a testament to the PCG’s commitment to maintaining responsive and effective maritime operations.
