The Philippine Ports Authority concludes the first module of their UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Programme – Modern Port Management Course Cycle 5 with a port briefing and tour at the Port of Cagayan de Oro on Friday, 23 June 2023.

The activity started with a heartwarming greeting from MO/C Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac, Jr. followed by the operations, security, and cargohandling briefing. During the presentations from the representatives of the PMO, UNCTAD participants were able to bear witness to how the Baseport of PMO MO/C is able to ensure efficient and productive port operations for both cargo and passenger vessels, and their recognitions from various agencies. Additionally, OROPORT, the cargohandling operator of the CDO Port, showcased their commendable service and was recognized for taking the initiative to develop their own system that will further improve the efficiency of operations. Towards the end of the activity, UNCTAD participants took a running tour around the CDO Port, especially the upgraded Passenger Terminal Building and its facilities.

PMO MO/C is the host agency for the first module of the UNCTAD TFT PMP Cycle 5 which tackles International Trade and Maritime Transport.
