The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro just concluded the Year-end Conference for each Division and Terminal Management Office (TMO) for the year ended 2019.

The PMO initiated the conduct of the Conference every January of the new year for each Division (Port Services, Port Security, Engineering, Administrative, and Finance) and TMOs (Balingoan, Camiguin, and Opol), in order to: assess the performance in the preceding year; review accomplishments against targets and objectives; revisit compliance to the Office Performance Commitment Review (OPCR); address issues and concerns; plan proactive measures against pressing concerns. Furthermore, Divisions/units were able to present their plans for 2020 and the interim organizational structures during the Conference.

Division-level conferences were scheduled separately, and each was presided by Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac Jr. The series of conferences kicked-off with the Port Services Division on 13 January 2020 and ended with the Finance Division on 30 January 2020.

Through this activity, all personnel from the top management down to the technical and administrative support staff would be able to see the interlinks of functions and responsibilities between and among units and Divisions which are ought to be continuously improved towards more efficient delivery of services as one PMO.  PM Butaslac Jr., urged each Office to embark on automation of processes when possible to save time and efforts, prevent data loss, efficient tracking of transactions, among other advantages. — By IMR Lam
