The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE)— Cagayan de Oro Chapter, the organization of electrical practitioners, and the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro are planning to establish partnerships for various undertaking.

Representatives of the IIEE— CDO Chapter led by their own President, Engr. Leopoldo C. Capacia, made a courtesy call on 21 January 2020 with the PMO Management.

Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac Jr. gave them a short overview of the Port operations, and the continuing initiatives and programs of the PMO towards environmental protection as an APEC-recognized Green Port.

The IIEE initially proposed for capacity-building training for electricians-personnel of the CDO Port and technical support to the Port’s development projects. They have also expressed appreciation of the environmental projects of the PMO. The Organization has also pipelined their own coastal clean-up and/or mangrove tree planting activity in July, as one of its activities in the second half of the year.

This future partnership is another opportunity for the PMO to strengthen linkages with other organizations for matters of mutual concern.   — by IMR Lam
