The DOST- Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Mindanao PAGASA Regional Services Division (MPRSD) recently issued Climate Advisory No. 7 (La Niña). The said Advisory contained the following monthly climate assessment and outlook for Mindanao:

Most climate models indicate continuation of La Niña event (55% probability) through March-April-May 2021 season. However, there is an increasing likelihood of returning to ENSO neutral conditions (60% probability) during April-May-June 2021 season. There is yet an increased probability of above normal rainfall in most areas of Mindanao on March 2021 that can lead to potential adverse impacts including flooding in low-lying areas, rain-induced landslides and overflowing of rivers over vulnerable areas, with varying magnitude. All concerned agencies are continually advised to take precautionary actions to mitigate these hydrometeorological hazards.
